The Surrett Law Firm has been a part of the Augusta legal community for many years.  The founding partner, Carl J. Surrett, began practicing law in Augusta in 1968 and formed his first law firm shortly thereafter.  In 1982, Edward J. Coleman, III, became an associate with the firm, and became a partner in 1986.

In 1993, Mr. Surrett and Mr. Coleman changed the name of the firm to Surrett & Coleman, P.A., and have continued to concentrate their practices on domestic relations, bankruptcy (creditor representation, only) and civil litigation (including insurance defense).  In addition, Mr. Coleman devotes a significant part of his practice to his duties as Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for the Southern District of Georgia.
